I rarely drink smoothies. It's only when I'm a bit dehydrated that I find myself craving one. I'm not a fan of drinking my food for a few reasons. First off, I don't find it as satisfying or satiating. In fact, it's not. Your brain responds differently to liquid calories than to those you actually have to chew and digest. I guess that's my only reason. But, I do understand if you simply need to get quick, quality calories. During my pregnancy and post partum, smoothies were my jam. Here's one of my faves - a Stella's Go Green Smoothie copycat.
Ingredients
1 banana (Kitchen hack! Keep ripe and peeled bananas in the freezer for your smoothies.)
1 pear
Handful of spinach
1/4 c orange juice concentrate
1/4 c coconut milk
Dash of ginger juice
Dash of lime juice
1 serving of collagen (optional - link below to my fave. You can also find it at Costco for cheap, cheap.)
Water or ice as needed
Blend it all up and enjoy!
